CONTINUING THE STORY
Have you ever been in an antique store and come across photos from long ago? Rather than strolling through the rest of the shop, I often find myself combing through all of the amazing images and wondering about the stories they hold - who the people were and what their lives were like. How did their lives differ from ours? How were they similar? Even more pressing, how did these photos end up here in this shop of antiques and not with their loved ones? Each time, I end up taking a few of them home with me, happily giving the photos a new home.
There is something magical about photos taken in the early days of photography. The novelty of capturing a person in such a way in the early 1800s still contains a bit of mystery-- at least for me. Discovering photos of your own relatives, some of them you may have never seen before, can bring a lot of joy and even clarity to your life. You finally understand, for instance, how your brother ended up being lanky, with reddish hair and freckles, while no one else in your family has these characteristics.
That's the magic of old photos. Restoring them to their original look has become something that brings me much delight! I enjoy providing this additional service for my clients. Let me know if you are interested in learning more about how I can bring life back to those photos you've stored in a box for generations.
